Symbolism and art history

Signet rings with a cartouche were the personal “seal” of the pharaohs in ancient Egypt, securing documents and treasures.
The cartouche motif – an oval frame surrounding hieroglyphs – symbolized the “protective line of the sun” that protected the ruler’s name from oblivion.
To this day, Egyptologists use such rings as a key to reading dynasties and dates, because every detail reveals the era and rank of the owner.

Symbolism of hieroglyphs

The central scene shows the god Ra sitting with a sun disk above his head – a symbol of divine power, light and rebirth.
Next to it, hieroglyphs are engraved, meaning power and protection, and on the side wall there is an ankh – the oldest Egyptian symbol of life.
Together they create a talisman that was supposed to ensure longevity, clarity of mind and uninterrupted care of higher powers.

Handmade Process

The project begins with a hand-drawn sketch of the cartouche, which is then designed in 3D, reproducing the texture of the stone relief.
The mold is cast in brass, followed by multi-stage grinding and matting to achieve contrast between the smooth sides and the grainy background of the hieroglyphs.
Finally, the ring is covered with 24-karat gold and quality control is performed to ensure that every detail is legible and durable.
