Symbolism and art history

Red varieties of Mojave stones are a composition of natural fragments that are fused by copper under high pressure, creating a unique “spiderweb” network of veins – a technique inspired by the traditions of jewelers in the American Southwest.
In ancient desert cultures, the ruby color symbolized life-giving fire and the energy of the sun, and the round shape of the setting was associated with a shield protecting against evil spirits.
Medieval seal rings in this shape were worn by the rulers of the Maghreb, believing that red stones strengthen determination when making political decisions.

The Red Mojave stone combines the power of ruby and the grounding energy of copper, which is supposed to support self-confidence and creativity.
Gold-plated brass resonates with the archetype of the sun – it attracts prosperity and helps attract positive relationships.

Handmade process

The ring is created using the lost wax casting technique: first we carve the model, which is then placed in a plaster mold and cast in brass.
After removing from the mold, each element is individually polished and textured to bring out the contrast between the smooth rail and the decorative crown.
Finally, we apply 18-karat gold, hand-set a selected Red Mojave stone and polish the whole thing until we obtain an even, satin shine.
