The Persian Isfahan Moon Earrings refer to jewelry from the Safavid era (16th–17th centuries), when the city of Isfahan – called “half the world” – was famous for its minākarī enamel and lunar motifs in architecture. The crescent with green onyx and enamel reflects the Persian gardens of Eden, where green symbolized divine harmony. The hexagonal flower in the center is a nod to the geometric mosaics of the Imam Mosque – there, stone and enamel created a luminous, almost mystical whole.

Symbolism of elements and stones

The green onyx in the heart of the earring supports balance and courage of the heart, and its deep color was associated in Persia with rebirth and spring. The zircons on the arms of the crescent moon reflect light like night stars over the desert, emphasizing the celestial motif. The hanging drops of prehnite symbolize morning dew in Persian gardens - a delicate touch of freshness that adds movement and lightness to the earrings.

Handmade process

The body of the earrings is cast from gold-plated brass, after which the jeweler hand-engraves plant motifs, inspired by Persian arabesque. The cells of the crescent moon are filled with green enamel, fired in a kiln, and then polished to a high shine. Finally, the onyx is set, the zircons are set, and the drops of prehnite are suspended, after which the whole is subjected to a final polishing to bring out the luminosity of the gold and stones.
